Job Description

Position Summary

  • We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Consultant specializing in VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Automation to drive enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure solutions for our marquee clients in the banking and financial services sector.
  • In this role, you will bridge the gap between high-level architecture and concrete, automated execution.
  • You will collaborate directly with Enterprise Architects to translate architectural visions into robust Low-Level Designs (LLD) and then bring those designs to life through advanced automation.
  • The ideal candidate is a VCF subject matter expert with deep hands-on experience in VCF 9.0 and a strong forward-looking understanding of VCF 9.1 capabilities. Given the highly regulated nature of our clients, previous experience navigating the security, compliance, and scale of large-scale banking environments is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architectural Collaboration & Design: Partner closely with infrastructure and cloud architects to review High-Level Designs (HLD) and take full ownership of developing detailed Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation.
  • VCF Deployment & Automation: Author, test, and implement advanced automation workflows for virtual machine (VM) lifecycle management, resource provisioning, and day-2 operations across the full VCF stack.
  • Technical Leadership: Serve as the subject matter expert on VCF 9.0 implementation, ensuring infrastructure patterns align with VMware best practices and banking compliance standards.
  • Roadmap Strategy: Leverage familiarity with VCF 9.1 capabilities to future-proof current automation frameworks and plan seamless upgrade/migration paths.
  • Enterprise Delivery: Deliver scalable solutions within highly complex, multi-tenant, and heavily audited banking environments, ensuring zero-downtime mentality.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Technical Expertise:

  • VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF): Deep, hands-on technical expertise with VCF 9.0 deployment, configuration, and management. Strong familiarity with the updated feature sets, API enhancements, and capabilities introduced in VCF 9.1.
  • Automation & Orchestration: Advanced experience automating VM environments using Aria Automation (formerly vRealize Automation), Aria Orchestrator, Terraform, Ansible, or Python integrated with VCF APIs.
  • SDDC Stack Mastery: Strong engineering knowledge of core VCF components, including vSphere/vCenter, NSX-T/NSX-V, and vSAN.
  • Documentation: Proven track record of drafting rigorous, audit-ready Low-Level Design (LLD) documents, runbooks, and architectural diagrams.

Experience & Industry Context:

Banking/Financial Services Experience: Must have documented experience working with large-scale clients in the banking or financial services industry. Understands the nuances of strict change management, network segmentation, and data privacy regulations (e.g., PCI-DSS, SOX).

Consulting Mindset: 8+ years in a professional services or senior consulting role, with a demonstrated ability to manage stakeholder expectations, lead technical workshops, and navigate matrixed enterprise organizations.

Preferred Certifications (Plus but not required):

  • VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) – Cloud Management and Automation or Data Center Design.
  • VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX).
  • HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate.
